Little trick #1: pointer-events: none


pointer-events: none;

Got some text with z-index on top of a div with a hover effect? Your text is probably blocking that hover, and you want your mouse to ignore it and trigger the hover anyway. Worry not! That’s exactly what pointer-events: none is does. Apply it to the element you want to ignore, and voila!
